How can I add an event?

  • click on the word Login near the bottom of the page
  • Log in with your Calendar username and password
  • now click on the words Add New Entry

How do I fill in the fields of the Add New Entry form?

  • put the title of the seminar or event in the Brief Description field
  • put a complete description in the Full Description field. You should state at least where the event will be held and the name, email address, or telephone number of someone to contact about the event.
  • select the date and (usually) Timed Event
  • give the start time and the duration of the event
  • click the Participants tab and choose Asia-Pacific Seminars and Events
  • click the Save button, then the word Logout

What if I make a mistake?

You can delete your own entries, though not those of other editors.

I've saved my event, but it didn't appear in the public Calendar. Why?

Your event is put in a queue for approval. It may be a little while - up to a day, perhaps - before the Calendar's Administrator publishes it.

What is my username? What is my password?

Email Greg.Young@anu.edu.au and ask for a Calendar username and password.

Will you insert an event for me?

Certainly. Email Greg.Young@anu.edu.au with the announcement as plain text in the body of the email message.

Is there a mailing list that distributes seminar and event information of this kind?

Yes, ASIA_NEWS, an automated email mailing list hosted by the Faculty of Asian Studies, which disseminates information about Asia-related seminars and events at the Australian National University.
