Scanning documents and images can be done on the Faculty's scanner.

Where is the scanner?

In the Basham Room. Ask in the Faculty Office for the keypad number to get in.

How do I use it?

  1. ask in the Faculty Office for the username and password
  2. log on
  3. open ImageReady (it's the LaunchBar icon with two feathers)
  4. choose File --> Import... -->Twain Acquire ... --> Preview
  5. this will start the scanner. Edit and save the images.

Where can I save my scanned file?

  1. on to the local machine, where it can be copied to a disk or a Flash drive

Can I turn the image of a scanned text document into text?

Yes. Use the OCR (Optical Character Recognition) function. Push the appropriate button on the scanner. For short documents it will be easier to type the text yourself.
