The Faculty has a projector for displaying images from a computer on a large screen.

Where is the projector?

In room e442. Ask one of the Faculty Admin Team on Level 2 to let you in.

Signing out

You must sign for this equipment and you must sign it back in.

Is there a manual?

There's a User's Guide on the trolley.

How do I use the DVD player with the projector?

  1. Make sure the DVD player is plugged in
  2. Turn on the DVD power switch on the left hand side of the DVD player
  3. Plug the S-Video cable into the DVD player, then plug the other end of the S-Video cable into the projector
  4. Plug ONE audio cable into either the L or R audio output of the DVD player. Then plug the other end of the corresponding cable into the AUDIO port of the projector (you may need to adjust how far this is plugged in once the DVD is started)
  5. Press the "source search" button on the projector. This will scroll the projector image through all sources being imputed into the projector. Continue to press "Source Scroll" until the "Conia" DVD image appears.
  6. Insert the DVD into the DVD player and press play with the remote.
  7. Adjust the sound on the projector to the required level


Do I need to have a laptop?

No. The projector is set up as a self-contained unit with a computer on a trolley.

How do I show a PowerPoint or other presentation?

  • turn on the projector, by pushing the large 'Power' switch
  • turn on the computer, and log on as:
    • username: Administrator
    • password: slideshow
  • insert the media with your file:
    • CD in the computer CD drive
    • Flash drive in the USB port on the front of the computer


Can I show a file off a Flash drive (thumb drive)?

  • yes. Use the computer's USB socket.
