Biographical Statement
Born in Changchun City, the capital of Jilin Province, P.R.China, Ping received a Diploma in English Language and Culture in 1991 from Changchun University, where she also worked as an assistant English Lecturer. In 1992 Ping moved on to work at the International Education Offices at university level, provincial education level and Ministry of Education level respectively until 1997 in the area of managing international experts and international students' work and study in China. She also completed her Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Culture at North-East Normal University in 1995 and Master of Law in Political Science at Jilin University in 1997.
In 1998, Ping was granted an AUSAID scholarship to study at the University of Canberra, where she completed a Master of Education Degree in 1999. After returning to China, Ping resumed her work for the China Scholarship Council (CSC), for which she had worked previously, as the program officer to help manage the Chinese government's scholarships to sponsor Chinese visiting scholars to study abroad.
Between 2000 and 2001, Ping was asked to help establish a new center, 'Dongfang International Centre for Educational Exchange', which was directly managed by the CSC, where she rose to become Deputy Director of the Center, managing more than 15 foreign projects and recruiting Chinese self-financed students to study abroad.
From 2002 until the present, Ping has worked in various administrative positions at UC and ANU. Ping's current position is the Student Manager of College of Asia and the Pacific, ANU, where she is engaged in establishing a new College Student Office, working with a wide range of people with different educational and cultural backgrounds and streamlining administrative procedures and processes to provide the best services and support to the ANU and the College's education, research and outreach activities. Ping is committed to making a positive contribution to the strategic direction of the College administration and to continue working in the area of educational leadership and international education.
