Undergraduate Program
Each year several hundred men and women enrol in Asian Studies programs at the Australian National University (ANU). They represent a broad spectrum of experiences, attitudes and outlooks. However, they all recognise the international importance of Asia and the need to gain an understanding of the languages, societies, histories, politics and economies of the region.

The ANU is one of the world's leading centres for research and teaching on Asia. The Faculty of Asian Studies at the ANU offers a range of undergraduate programs as well as graduate programs that cover East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and West Asia.

All degrees in Asian Studies offer a unique integration of language and non-language cognitive majors. Students can select a language from an extensive list which includes Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Sanskrit, Thai, Urdu, Persian, and Vietnamese. The fields of study cover Asian History, Asian Religions, Contemporary Asian Societies, Asian Politics, International Relations, and Security Studies.

Please read the Undergraduate Program Guide. It provides an overview of the Faculty of Asian Studies, with information about courses and programs, staff and scholarships.
