Is ASIA_NEWS just someone's email CC list?
No. ASIA_NEWS is a list-processor mailing list. A machine manages subscriptions and postings.
The list is 'moderated'. What does that mean?
To prevent inappropriate mail being circulated each posting is checked before being sent on to the list processor.
I've just posted a message. When will it be circulated?
Not always immediately, but usually within 24 hours.
It is your responsibility to submit your posting in a timely fashion. If your event is due to be held in a week post your message now, not the day before the event.
I've got an urgent amendment to my previous message. What should I do?
Post it, bearing in mind that the urgency is yours, not that of the list.
Can I send an attachment in my message?
No. ASIA_NEWS circulates only plain text in the body of the email message.
I sent a message but it bounced back. What's wrong?
Subscribers may post messages only from their subscription address. If you subscribed from email address 'A' your posting from email address 'B' will be rejected.
May I send a follow-up or reminder to my previous post?
No. There's enough email in the world already.
May I forward a post from another mailing list?
No. There's enough email in the world already.
My message looked a bit untidy. Why didn't the moderator edit it?
ASIA_NEWS is self-help. The posting will go out as you sent it. The moderator's only role is to prevent inappropriate mail being sent to the list.
I urgently need to reach a human being about my posting. Whom should I contact?
